First its a NA tuned power launcher, added with "bomb", carbon ports and a high flow muffler as icing to the cake. No need for turbo installation, seems to do engine damage in the long term. Happened at the Yayasan underground parking lot. A friend of mine was with her husband in their car searching for parking. It was a fairly busy day with cars lined up to enter and leave the parking lot. At one moment, there was another car (person A), which was rushing to get out. Then there was another car behind A (car B).

As my friend was giving way for the cars to pass her, she waved her hand signaling the other cars to pass her. Suddenly the person at car B ran amok. In car B was a man, his wife and his children. So my friend asked the guy what the problem was. The guy replied that he thought the way my friend signaled was rude.

The guy made a turnaround and stopped his car in front of my friend's car. He went out and approached my friend's car. He looked fierce. My friend was alarmed and frightened, my friend's husband came out of the car to face the angry guy. Face to face, my friend's husband was much taller than the guy.

All of a sudden the angry guy shouted asking why the husband was approaching him. Much to his bravery to approach my friend's car, he was shaken facing my friend's husband. At the same time, my friend, seeing the angry guy together with his wife making threats, alerted the security guard. She said that a Malay guy was making problems. The guy probably heard the conversation and shouted "awueh Melayu Islam Beraja!" (yes a Malay, Muslim and under a Monarch)

The angry guy teased my friend's husband saying he should be ashamed having a wife like that. My friend's husband replied why should his wife be ashamed of asking for help when they are threatened like that. Then he added "its u who should be ashamed, claiming you are a Melayu Islam Beraja, yet acting embarrassingly in front of your own children."

The security guard came and try to handle the situation nicely. After a period of calm was shown, the matter seemed solved. The security warned the angry guy not to tail my friend of start the argument outside again. Feeling that the matter was solved, my friend found a parking space and parked and went shopping.

Little do they know that when they return to their car, the angry guy had parked their car behind my friend's car, waiting for her. So another round of argument broke out, luckily just involving verbal abuses. My friend threatened to make a police report if the angry guy would not stop and go. Obviously, the guy had misunderstood my friend's intention of letting him pass his car earlier as a rude act.

My friend explained that she let him pass because car A was in a rush to go out. As she said this, the angry guy's wife quickly advised her husband to leave the matter. She was concerned that my friend would make a police report.

The result - the guy left. My friend made a police report. Verdict - lost in translation.

Whenever suggesting ideas or points, indirectly means treating the other person as having an equal stand in a discussion. It flows nicely and neutrally. Otherwise it would connote the idea that we want to argue, its best to avoid touching individual ego in communication. A healthy discussion allows both parties to express their points and ideas equally. Found it more effective to practice open discussion between non-strangers. Ego is like the eye to the soul. When ego is challenged poked at regularly, even if we are wrong, we tend to try and argue to our advantage. It changes the whole attitude and purpose of discussion. Tend to become and turn to offensive. Some truths are painful.

Retracting own words... Received a lot of emails and application requests from Facebook asking to join causes and trying to propagate ideas. What is obvious though not immediately realized is that these people sending stuffs seem to be predominantly anti-Semitic, or at least pointing to religious differences for explanation relating to events in Gaza. All religions support peace. As Muslims, we need to present the message of Islam as a religion, which propagates peace. Death statistics should not become the basis for discrimination, both sides are suffering. There is an ever-present need (even more so in this age where the world is becoming smaller) to turn away from our religio-centric tendencies. Any means of measurement to divide people should not be used to compromise peace. From stone-age times we have yet to find lasting solutions for peace. Individualism is old news. Survival of the fittest can only be achieved through unity. It was never a question of religion, politics are always screwed.

Cant help but get caught up in the tide of emotions over whats going on in Gaza... Just watch al-Jazeera. Why on earth are soldiers taking aim at medical personnel? why are UN schools and civilian houses being targeted? Its debilitating really... Hearing families being killed, some leaving the small ones alone. Hamas, Fatah, Middle east and the international community all have roles to play, but i consider it a matter of historical accident with innocent civilians as the major casualties. Palestine attacks, Israel represses, the rest creating bonfires, the cycle continues. Territorial boundaries are a mess. Resolutions are ignored. Do something OPEC, and who cares if US vetoed anything after that. Its now a battle of Karameh.

Love to jog. Physically, it makes a productive day feel complete. Mentally (besides vanity), for it to be able put things into perspective and clear thoughts for the hungry mind. Blame the BAPE pink shirt for making some people feel fat =) Health and vanity, its a good combination!

Thought dawn steps are much more satisfying, runs made after hearing the dusk prayer calls and sun sets up nicely above. Fresh air and humidity levels low, feel grateful to be able to do this. At 5 am its calmingly quiet. Felt that theres one traffic light, which more than often fails to work at this hour.

At 6 am, activities around BSB seems to generate as miss sunshine sets in. Run past, the old man whos always there now waves every now and then, the two ladies always waiting near the bus stop area now smile, the boys with their shuttlecocks and rackets at jubilee Park remind me of the Sidek lads, the ipod-running-kid always seems focused and the birds are getting positively more vocal each day.

Went to the river at Jubilee Park, cant help but be amazed by the flocks of birds resting or nesting at the mangrove trees. Gets most amazing each time the birds take off en masse, especially with beautiful sunset rays reflected on the water and in the background. Gonna visualize them with camera one day.

Remember the year when our country experienced a period of prolonged dry season? Could see then people at Jame Asr' mosque were taking ablutions at the water fountain... Couldnt help but smile thinking of god's wonders.

Remembered an incident, fell from a bus an awarded with a fractured arm. Its funny actually, assure you the "life flashes in front of your eyes" thing is true. Well the story begins with the author in the bus and gossiping about stuffs (again!), then when destination was near, readied to come off without realizing bus was still moving...

The door opened and u guessed what happen. Was like a footage from a Bollywood movie, author was rolling a couple of times and (thank god!), like a footage from a Bollywood movie, author was still alive. Was lying on the floor, head inches from the moving tires of the bus. Composed self and sat for god-knows-how-long on the (luckily) empty road. It was at this period when author experienced "life flashes in front of your eyes" thingy.

Regained senses and composure after two road sweepers called, panic written all over their face. After saying author was alright, author smiled. Ended with all three having a good laugh. Walked home to a surprised mom - uniform shirt no longer resembling one, minor cuts all over, and a i-am-ok-smile. Hehe.

Had a cast next day but still had the mood playing monopoly with brother. Now remembered it was in the fasting month. Chillax!

Moral of the story - Do not waste water. =p

Stayed in this chalet in Niah. Price is reasonable, a choice of either air-conditioned unit or none. Array of amenities provided including kitchen, rooms with four beds, toilet, some furniture, BBQ stove. Water and electricity provided. Theres a restaurant nearby though stocking of own food supplies recommended in case of food sale failure. Hehe. Not much shops outside the park and they close early. One unit can accomodate 8 people (minimum). If correct, booking of units are closed after 5pm.

Would never subscribe to opinions made against kids without taking into consideration of the roots of their behaviour. Laws against kids dressing inappropriately? Parents should have noticed the moment kids are outside home. Finding bugs where there isnt.

But do think introducing fines for messing the beaches a good idea. Singapore seems clean without it gums. Ahh Mr moody should continue with rumblings next time. hehe.

Plan your time
Draw up a realistic revision schedule and stick to it. Include some time for relaxation — it's not healthy to constantly have your nose in a book. To maximise your concentration, break up your time into 15-minute segments, interspersed by five-minute breaks. Knowing that you have a break coming up helps to prevent you from losing interest completely.

Don't be unrealistic
You've spent most of your life at school, and you have a good idea of what you're capable of. If you're an average student, you're unlikely to suddenly jump to the top of the class. Being realistic will help prevent you (and your parents!) from being disappointed when the results come in. The key thing is to do your best.

Avoid sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll (but especially drugs)
Anything that can give you a high will eventually give you a low. Don't try to deal with your stress by turning to alcohol or recreational drugs — apart from anything else, you need all the memory you can get right now! Try not to drink too much coffee either — the caffeine won't help you to concentrate. Drinking plenty of water will keep you hydrated and your brain functioning at its best.

Revise methodically

Test yourself
Test yourself or get someone to test you on your notes. Bribe a brother or sister to do it for you, or ask your parents. Testing yourself regularly means that you remember facts better and any gaps in your knowledge can be picked up in good time — making the actual exam a lot less stressful.

Stick notes around your house
Buy cardboard stars in bright colours from newsagents, or make some out of card. Write key facts and phrases on each and stick them around your bedroom (preferably on items where they won't leave a mark!) in places where you'll often see them, for example, on your mirror or inside a cupboard that you often open. After a while, these facts will sink in without any extra effort on your part.

Ignore your friends
Not entirely, of course! But when your mates say how much revision they've been doing, they might not be telling the truth. Don't use them as a benchmark — they might not want to seem daggy for doing lots of revision, or they might not be doing enough. Know yourself and know what you have to do — you're in this for yourself.

Ask for help
There are great sources of support available if you feel that you need it. Ask a teacher if you don't understand a particular topic now that you're revisiting it — it doesn't have to the one who taught you if you don't feel that they're good at explaining things to you. School counsellors and even good old mum and dad are also great for getting worries "off your chest". You're not alone, so don't feel that you have to be.

Have a fall-back plan
Okay, so maybe you want to go and study at Harvard, become a top brain surgeon and also have a simultaneous career in tap-dancing BUT, however achievable these goals might be, make sure you have a Plan B. For example, if you don't make your grades, you could consider not going to uni for a year and retaking your exams. Or you might decide to go to a different uni, or just not bother at all. Working out at least a vague idea of what you want to do in life will help you to come up with a fall-back plan (or even two).

Get some exercise
Exercise is a great way to give yourself a break and to max out your concentration span. You don't have to do hours of circuit training — a 15-minute jog or a brisk walk will do the job nicely."

Time feels short all the time when under pressure. The truth is if u can FB for hours, u can do the same for revising... haha... Don't think lying on the bed helps either. Used to on the lights, hoping that it could help body to stay awake when taking short dreams (naps), which is indeed a proven fallacy. Rather struggle and stay awake till everything's done or mind is satisfied.

Taking prayers or ablutions help as well. Spiritual strength translates well for the physical endurance. Just Youtube David Blaine - its all in the mind. Heard that coffee and siggies dont work well together though =)

Different strategies work differently for differently people, its best to be prepared and stick with whats good for us. Greatluck to everyone. Burning the midnight kerosene/petrol/cooking oil. Haha.

Is home an elitist country? I think development is going at the right pace. I won't touch on politics but i think home has more space to improve on specific matters. The problem is that not everyone is willing to take the blame, to admit that they are imperfect, to accept criticisms and such. Lucky no people are dead from falling windows. I like the american education system better that the British system we have. I believe in learning not just obtaining grades.

We need someone who can take the heat, I think the new VC is a fighter, see how it goes. I don't think its that difficult. Just go with changes and don't be afraid to listen to criticisms as they should be treated constructively to be understood. Only when u listen can u then act with purpose. When everyone tries to be perfect than progress is made difficult. Islam propagates us to always be grateful but this should not be a reason for us to stop striving for improvements.

Muhasabah-criticisms are part of life. We should be more open to changes (good ones). Nothing is perfect. That is why god created heaven and hell. If everyone went to heaven, what would life mean? As Miss keys said, hand me a world on a silver platter, and what good would it bring? Allsaidanddone, home has little population to go with its development goals. Maybe home needs 'more-child-incentive'. We don't need more malls or buildings, we just need to improve with what we have. Keep our scholars and the educated, we need them. That said, they deserve to be treated like they should to keep them here.

Convocation fever is on, some fatty stalls all over. They were grudging to try the then-said Ahad's Burger. A friend of mine sort of recognized the guy behind that stall. We had a fine conversation.

He said: Im skeptical of the contents provided. Most of the channels are full of godly elements (dewa) and are only made for financial purposes in mind. Well this has to to with the non-Muslim producers and directors. Bruneians are still not ready behind the camera, most would shy away as soon as they see the black-electron (video-camera).

He was in the Sejuta Makna crew before and was familiar of the acting scene here. He preferred acting without the scripts as it was more "open". All that was needed were guidelines and props (MIB thingy). Its sad that the show didn't go on to continue, it was a good one.

Used to make tons of them, can get really addictive, make some for that special someone... to fill a sandal box size, i think it will take at least three months of thumb-blistering-hallucinating-singing-period of time..hehe... Takes little time to learn, more time to master, forever to bring star down from the sky... Just try it!

Instructions:

Make a "ribbon" from the strip of paper, with one end as short as possible and the other long. The short end should be overtop of the long end
finish tying a "knot" by slipping the long end through the loop of the "ribbon" but don't scrunch it. Pull the "knot" as tight as you can without scrunching the paper
flatten the edges of the knot to make a pentagon shape that has one short end sticking out and one long end.
valley fold the short end and tuck it into the "pentagon" so it doesn't show anymore. You should be able to do this without scissors, but if you left your short end a bit too long, you can snip it shorter (start over if you have to snip off more than 1/2 an inch)
turn over the project valley fold the long end along the pentagon (see the red line in the image)

Have you ever waited for that special someone, but they seemed so confusing for you to even make sense of their actions? Consider these lines:

Prolly you have misinterpreted his/her response.
Have you clarified with his/her definition of "I like you"?
If so, did they just want to be friends and felt comfortable whenever they are around you?
Is he/she using intimate words with you?
What was your response at the early stages?
Try sit and talk. Give it a try, if he/she refuses, don't push.
If she/he refuses, it is not the end, convince them that you want to make things work.
Show them that you care, voice it out.
I do not know how to make relationships work, but I do know that solving things without the involvement of pride will definitely work.
If you're very sure that you WANT to be with him/her, try everything that you think might work, regardless of losing pride. JUST for the one you're certain will make you happy.
For me, sometimes a lady will most appreciate a single thing that a man do even if it seems silly to others.
Think and act ONLY when you are in a stable state of mind. I am sure good ideas will spring up soon.
Make them jealous? NO, don't hurt feelings. Think of other ways.
Sweet thing to do? Don't bother, sincerity is more important. Why do something that you don't even mean it?
Don't know what to do? You'll figure it out... Be calm and think about it with love.

NOD initiative - part one

The fearless leader... involved in a cleaning campaign with smart clothing. Trims boss! hehe...
He's the brain behind this fantastic idea. He was the one who came up with the proposal, budget, papers, and guidelines. U can do anything u set your mind to man.

The team members at the end of our maiden cleaning session at Kg Dato Gandi. We were expecting a turn out of around 15 members, dropping to just 7 including me... oh 8 plus the boatmen, we cant simply have managed without him.

Wouldn't be truly environmental friendly without these bags yea? hehe... Found these special biodegradable garbage bags at Giant (cheap price everyday~) We also had to wear boots, paper masks and cute rubber gloves. Helmets were also needed. Needless to say, we were not financially insured..

We transferred garbage bags here from the fastboat... We had to inform people fishing around the area so as to avoid issues later.

This was the base area where we load and unload the bags. We decided to clean the base as well.. Not so much difficulty here, tho the fact that everything was covered with wet smelly sand made the task a lot harder. We had to be careful so as not to over fill the bags as they could tear apart easily and that happened quite a few times.

Takara - wonderfull taste, though price range is slightly higher than the rest. Quality for quantity? =)

Kaizen - competitive to Takara. Also expensive but worth it. The authentic Japanese settings make the place a joy to dine at.

Escapade - affordable food pricing, but can get noisy. Its the Mc Donald's of sushi.

Misato - Almost same price as escapade, taste arguable. I think there is too much improvisation. Sushi using chilli maggee?

Five defining moments for a man

Thoughts have compiled this list to include five of the most crucial moments that every man will pass through in some part of their lives.

1) marriage - there will come a time when u find that soul mate of yours, some one you can talk with for hours, together becoming an item, sharing intimately, having fights, learning to live together and ultimately learning to compromise with one another's weaknesses. One may like watching WWE, the other might not... Its the moment when you discover what brand of sugar and spice she's made of that will determine the future of your relationship.

I dont plan to get hitched soon but who knows.. i have other ideas in mind, its all about priorities babe. I think ill write about things to do before reaching thirty in the near future.. Friends are getting married and having kids, time passes by so fast, you can hardly breathe thinking of the things happening around you..

Before popping the question, you would be thinking of that dream honeymoon, what type of wedding, cheese or chocolate cake, what concept, invite that ex (es) of yours? the cost involved and all. Before all that, most importantly, is she the one u want to spend the rest of your life with? make out and have kids with? I seriously think marrying a bestfriend cant be a bad thing at all..

2) Becoming a father - When was the last time u had to babysit your small cousins or nephews or anyone's child?

All i had in memory was looking after my baby sis alone, i remembered one day she was crying non-stop. I had to scan her for 'symptoms' - soiled pampers ok, milk check, rash attack check, insect attack nil... i was confused, no idea whatsoever of the source of her displeasure. Then my mom arrived home, and she stopped crying. True enough, A mother's touch! *sigh* thanks mom *hugs*

I've been told of the burdens of parenthood all the time, my mom used to tell me how badass i was when i was a baby. I would cry all night long and when i was in kindi, i would punch other kids for fun and would run at teachers trying to get hold of me..hehe..

I know Juno looks awfully inspiring but hey i dont think its as awfully straight-forward business as that.. When its hard to be yourself its not to be someone else. Realize the need to be good examples to our kids. Its your turn to be the head of the household now.

3) First defeat - business or personal, every man will experience the taste of defeat. The higher you are, the harder your drop will be. Its how you deal with your adult defeats - those that will cut deep into your ego (divorces, estrangement etc) - that will determine your growing up as a man.

As mentioned in 'the art of war', "...when your weapons are dulled, your ardor damped, your strength exhausted and your treasure spent, then no man, however wise, will be able to avert the consequences that must ensue.."

Learn from D.beckham when he missed that one England freekick or that Mariah Carey formula e=mc2.. Believe that what doesnt kills you will make you stronger. If u had to go down, make sure you go down like a man. Go on, watch 300 again and watch those awesome gays with six packs.

My inspiration will always be Man United after that munich trauma. Public attention and concern was phenomenal. To lose one of the best united eleven at that time would be more than just migraine, but United went on to produce a squad, which included the likes of Robson, Best and Charlton. Reds! Born and Bred!

4) Becoming an orphan - When was the last time you asked mom to iron your clothes or dad to pay the bills for your everything? No more free foods. Its a life cycle, from a child becoming an elder, its a physical, psychological to spiritual transformation.. In a full life span, everyone will get to experience it it in mid-life.. I am already missing my late grandfather.

I still depend much on my parents for food, advice and support. I dont have my own car, and I am not keen on showing off my parents' car either. Definitely, we need to cherish eveything before its gone. My mom arranges my stuffs once in a while, i do realize that i can get messy at times. I do care about organization but so much has happened lately that i cant help but get disorganized.

Most will refrain to even think about it, but come on, how long do you think you can keep depending on someone to do your everything? As much as God decides everything, death is a reality, a fact of fate. Think of your own future plot of land, house later, start smoking only when you can pay for it using you own money and stop hustling around with that cool car of yours-parents. Pray.. getting a good ground in spirituality gives us strength to carry on. Build good karma, leave a coin in that vending-machine, just like in final fantasy online, use a potion to revive the dead, do unto others.. and others might return the favour when its your body lying dead on the ground.

5) Realizing you dont know everything - You are not stupid, you are not god either... Growing up is a tough process, i dont know if its much more fun planned or better unplanned. What i do know, its better to accept our weaknesses and make good use of our strengthes.

Nationalism. Democracy is the best tool against corruption, its more iron than iron-fist..hehe.. Our people should get rid of the "we have just arrived attitude". It takes more to suceed this days. I cant comment much, as i would comment on others who do such to study hard and become ministers, so as to be able to make the said differences and desired changes. Im babbling here..hehe..

We grow with experience, its good to try new things. Go... go get that girl's number now. Better late than never. Life is too short to wait for changes, create your own paths and determine your own destiny. Its you who like to eat those mash-potatoes not her so dont beat around the bush..

For those who wish to go to Niah cave, you have to go through this passage, a long winding one... hehe.. not for those who are afraid of heights.. ehehehe.. just joking, assume that was there when construction works were underway, it should be much better now...

Still remembered there were several who had to be led by hand to reach across... hehe... (who eat indomee, wont know maggee mee) Its a long way to reach the cave, but it was worth it!

Niah was great, the cave is dark, and the smell of guano lingers... Its literally everywhere, u get to step on them... The first impression of the cave is that its quite huge (like OMG huge)... After the trip, must say that have learned to appreciate light more... The floor was slippery, muddy and you almost get the feeling that you' re stepping onto something u should not...

Was struggling with the pictures, faithful camera was senseless inside the cave... Did manage to capture pic of an iguana, accidentally... Who knows what else lurks around... There were countless stairs, slippery ones, a torch light is a must to navigate around. I wonder how our ancestors managed to lived there in such conditions...

Laters, went back to the hotel and have a good scrub. =)

These are among the common snacks that my generation used to munch on a lot in the old days, its hard to see them on the shelves nowadays.. I still find it worth the time and effort in searching for them, brings the nostalgic memories in me.. Used to buy lots of them and eat together with friends during breaks, thats if time is not wasted fully on running around sessions..

Back then the games were mostly played in groups... run and run sjaa, amazingly did not remembered getting tired.. i forgot how many bruises and cuts i got, not to mention 'manufactured-holes' on my trousers... full of energy, sometimes getting into fights, biasalah kanak-kanak, geng-geng...hehe

most simple was just kicking flattened tin cans, or balls made of paper strips taped together... or cara kaki, or police thingy...hehe oh oh, how can i forget the marbles or the card stacks or the rubber seeds (people would even smother candle wax inside)... i remembered a time when everyone was lying on the floor playing stacks of cards or affectionately known as 'skopong'...hehe... and baloon fight, cara duduk, cara ais... the list goes on...

Do i have to mention about the imitating games? like those mini marriages, cooking..hehe...

Feelings

seeing the rain fall from the skies,

its just an old feeling, the same face, the same star,

maybe i've just misunderstood

1.ABC at foodzone centerpoint.

2.Kolomee, also at place aforementioned

3.This one is an icecream crepe found at bigpapas. They come in an assortment of flavours and fillings..i personally love the banana, guava and vanilla mix..

4.icy-licious... pancake at the mall.. more of a snack..

5.This one can be found at the hospital koperasi.. Its simply rice with satay gravy..(make sure beli 2 set)

Went to tasek lama.. a good outing area.. and the sunset there can be brilliant at times too, if ur willing to get high up there.. hehe.. This is the place where u can find some of the largest ants in Brunei too..

The place has been improved since the last time, making a trip there much enjoyable.. theres even a mini jacuzzi there.. and joggers might just love the place though its not as tough as other places like shabandar. Theres also an area for feet reflexology..

A lot of people go there everyday regularly, its easy to make friends and meet one there..so do give it a try and go there..hehe!

Telisai beach, my fav beach so far in Brunei... Quite clean and serene at times too... Felt so comfortable there. Maybe had too many things in the head, but here, everything felt so far away..

I don't quite understand the idea of forgetting our past, forget our scars.. what i do know is that if we want to avoid getting more scars, we have to know where the last ones came from.. this i think is still the best cure..

Went straight here after going to the Muara beach, have to say that the sunset view here is quite amazing. A friend once said that, if a guy proposes to her, with this sunset view at the background, at this very place, on the bridge (not shown here) she would immediately accept the proposal. Haha!
